​At Insight Academics Microschool, we believe education should be flexible, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs. Our microschool provides personalized learning experiences for students in grades 7-12, following the Alberta Education curriculum while embracing the freedom and customization of homeschooling.

We are committed to empowering students—especially those with learning disabilities—by offering a structured yet adaptable educational experience. Our goal is to create a supportive, engaging, and innovative learning environment that prepares students for success in high school and beyond.

About us

Heidi Kennedy

Founder, Learning Strategist, Educational Consultant

 

Heidi is a born and raised Calgarian with a passion for education, mental health, and numbers. She completed her Bachelor of Education at the University of Calgary and her Master’s of Mathematics through the University of Waterloo. With over 15 years of experience, many of those years were invested in working with students with learning disabilities, including anxiety, dyslexia, and ADHD. Heidi is committed to promoting lifelong learning for both students and teachers by providing them with the individualized skill set required to achieve their personal and educational goals. She is known for using humor and laughter to connect with her clients, quickly building trusting and lasting relationships with students, parents, and teachers.

 

Eryn

Academic Coach

 

Eryn brings teaching experience across all grades from preschool to grade 12. She holds both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education from British Columbia and moved to Calgary with her family in 2014. Eryn has worked with students with a variety of learning needs and is a passionate advocate for mental health and neurodiverse learners. She is an avid reader, chai tea, and chocolate lover, and enjoys exploring new trails in Kananaskis with her husband and two children.

 

Stephanie

Academic Coach

 

Stephanie is a native Calgarian with a passion for helping students succeed. She transitioned from being a competitive gymnastics coach to a teacher, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Mount Royal University and a Bachelor of Education at the University of Calgary. Currently teaching middle school humanities, she loves helping students develop strategies to succeed in all areas.
