Sully, Gr.12

Over the spring semester, I reached out to Heidi for help with my Math 30-2 class. Throughout this time, she was extremely flexible in accommodating my schedule as well as providing extra practice for any topics that I was struggling with. Most importantly she always remained positive, insightful and supportive of my work. With her help I was about to surpass the needed math marks to attend the University of Calgary, as well as achieve my dream of becoming an officer within the Canadian Armed Forces. In the future I would highly recommend that others use the educational services provided by Heidi. 

​Hey Heidi, I know it's pretty late for me to be saying this, but thank you for everything you did to help me get through math in high school. You're a great tutor and you helped me learn important concepts quickly and effectively. Keep doing what you're doing!

​I struggled immensely with chemistry and could never really grasp the concepts of it. Ms. Swanby was always open to help me, either early morning or late at night. Her patience was always appreciated. My personal struggles with my learning disability became easier in Ms. Swanby’s class due to her welcoming and genuine presence in her classroom, that you don’t see often with other teachers. She was even my volleyball coach, and this is where me and other students noticed the extra time, care and work ethic Ms. Swanby has! She truly can handle any curveball a student throws at her!
My experience working with Heidi was nothing short of fantastic. I worked with Heidi for all my high school subject and for all 3 years of high school. I'm very grateful for her guidance and truly couldn't have done it without her. She pushed me to work my hardest and strive for greater than I thought I could achieve. Her patience and dedication to me as a student and a person made me beyond successful. Heidi built my confidence, and made me know I was capable of whatever I put my mind to. Now in university, I am able to face big challenges because I have the skills and tools Heidi instilled in me. She focused on the ways I learnt best and used strategies that I understood. On call 24/7, I could always count on her!
Not only was Heidi truly the best teacher, she was kind, respectful, encouraging, supporting and overall a great human to work with. I am very grateful for my time working with Heidi and would recommend her for anyone in need of support.

​After failing a recent test, I reached out to Ms. Swanby and let her know that I didn’t want to continue with the class. She told me that she would not let that happen, and without hesitation took me under her wing. She has a very unique way of explaining concepts and never made me feel uncomfortable or silly when I was confused.

My academic grades increased and for the first time the prospects of attending a highly credible University, and potentially receiving scholarships, was in reach. My confidence also increased, and it was the first time I didn’t feel less intelligent than other students. Without Ms Swanby’s influence I would have never been able to achieve these accomplishments as she taught me how to believe in myself. She was undoubtedly one  the most influential teachers I have ever had, and anybody who gets to work with her will feel the same way.
